Your Therapists

Hi, I’m Stephanie, MS, LMHC.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, owner and provider at Better Being Therapy Services and contributing author on Psychology Today. Born and raised in Florida I’ve spent most of my life in Jacksonville where many of my most cherished memories were made. Raised as the daughter of an immigrant, I’ve seen the challenges that people from different backgrounds face. I’ve also seen how beautiful life can be in spite of hardships.

As a Florida native I’m partial to the outdoors, and particularly the beach. I can be found most days sitting on the shore with a good book watching my husband surf, or splashing around the waves myself.

When not in the sun I can be found doing any number of other hobbies that I enjoy, including: watering my one-too-many house plants, working on a novel, taking an improv comedy class, yoga with my cat, meditating, or reading a good book.

As a therapist I take very seriously the privilege that I hold in being let in to a persons life, pain and trials. I take pride in this honor and work to understand and support each individual through whatever they are going through. In this role, I’ve seen great pain and great hope and healing. I truly love what I do and what each day brings. I can’t wait to meet you and help you find that same feeling in your life.

Professionally, I earned my Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida and my Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I completed my practicum and internship in Jacksonville, and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and am trained in EFT. I am currently working towards complete certification as a Certified EFT Therapist, to be completed in 2024.

Hi, I’m Kelly, M.A.

Hi, I’m Kelly!

I am a Registered Mental Health Intern on the path to becoming a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.

I like to explain what a Registered Intern is because for those outside of this field it can be a little confusing. In the state of Florida, all clinicians must complete two years of post-masters training before obtaining their unrestricted license, and I am currently completing those hours. I’m under the Supervision of a Qualified Supervisor so you can be sure that on top of my graduate eduction, training and experience you will also have the benefit of an additional practitioner supervising my work and providing secondary client care.

I was born and raised here in Atlantic Beach before moving away for several years. Having spent time in many different parts of the country, I have been able to witness how our environment and community impact our mental health. I have also seen how our neighborhood can strengthen and support us despite our hardships.

Growing up, my mornings often started with the TV show “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” On it, Mr. Rogers once said, “When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” Inspired by this, I aim to create a safe and comforting space for those feeling overburdened by their emotions. Together, we can navigate a way forward.

I work primarily with children, teens, and young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, life-stage transitions, relationships, self-esteem, and goal-setting. I use evidence-based treatment to provide coping skills and help you rediscover the spark within yourself.

I believe that genuine change arises from self-awareness and acceptance. To foster this, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Child-Centered Play Therapy to encourage you to embrace who you are and cultivate self-love. I am committed to creating transformative experiences within the therapy room, knowing that true change happens through these connections.
